    Description

Antique coffeepot, silverplate over Britannia metal, by James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield, England. About 10 1/2 inches high to top of finial, with 8 engraved/chased panels, an arched base on four raised feet, hinged lid, and a figural, removable bud and leaf finial. Very heavy (2 1/2 pounds), joints are solid. Marked on base "James Dixon and Sons Best Brittania Metal 51914."
In very good condition--shined up very well using only cream polish--with some small dents (especially along the edges of the panels) and scratches. Inner lip of lid has slightly flared so it does not sit firmly in base. See pictures for details on style and condition.
