    Description

    Antique Victorian Silverplate
    Cruet / Condiment
    Castor / Carousel
    Holder / Frame
Up for auction is an antique Victorian Silverplate Castor/Carousel Holder or Frame, which is meant to hold glass cruets or condiment containers.  The carousel would be placed in the center of a table, and can be rotated so that the containers can easily be reached by guests seated at the table.  The frame stands approximately 14.25 inches tall, and the diameter of the base measures 5.5 inches across.  The diameter of the section where the cruets would sit, is approximately 7 inches across, and the diameter of each opening for a cruet is approximately 1 & 7/8 inches.  The auction is for the holder/frame only, as none of the glass cruets are present.
The Victorian Holder/Frame is in great vintage condition, and it easily rotates as it should.  However, there is overall loss to the silverplating, as well as a number of dents to the metal.  There is one dent on the base, and four on the spinning castor (three along the outside edge and one to the top).  In addition, one of the support bars underneath the frame of the castor is missing, although its abscence does not impair the utility of the piece.

Thank you for looking.  If you have any questions or would like additional information or pictures, please e-mail me as I would be happy to provide additional details.  Please note that all items being sold come from a smoke-free and pet-free home.  I am not a professional dealer, and am simply downsizing after years of collecting.  I try very hard to accurately list and describe the condition of each item that I sell, and can appreciate the frustration of receiving an item that is not as described.  Being human, I will occasionally make a mistake, and may miss a flaw or imperfection that would leave one dissatisfied with their purchase.  If this occurs, and you feel that the item you receive is not as described, please contact me immediately.  My goal is that each individual who buys from me is happy with their purchase.
